A man in his thirties, suspected of having killed his father by running him over with his car, will be presented Monday to a Grenoble judge with a view to being indicted for “murder on an ascendant”, indicated the parquet. The thirty-year-old, arrested on Saturday in the Paris region, must be referred to the Grenoble criminal center, deputy prosecutor François Touret de Coucy told the press.
Friday, a 64-year-old man was found “around 8:15 p.m., unconscious in the middle of the road” in the town of Charvieu-Chavagneux, in Isère, the gendarmes indicated. Taken care of by emergency services, he died at the scene of the tragedy.
The hypothesis of a family dispute was quickly favored, according to a source close to the investigation at AFP. According to the latter, the victim was to spend Friday afternoon with one of his sons. He would have “ejected” him from his car before “dragging him through the door” and running over him, said this source, based on the statements of a witness.
In police custody, the son first denied the facts before confessing, while providing confusing explanations, according to the regional daily The Dauphiné liberated.
