Dakar, Dec 27 (APS) – The government has included the reform of the circular economy in its agenda, with the aim of making it a vector for cleanliness in cities and countryside, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko said on Friday.

“The reform of the circular economy is included in the government’s agenda to make it a vector for cleanliness in our cities and countryside,” he declared.

Ousmane Sonko delivered his general policy declaration (DPG) to the deputies gathered at the National Assembly.

He specified that this reform will include “the regulation and financing” of the collection and sustainable treatment of waste.

“The objective of this reform is also to promote the potential for well-paid jobs that exists in the circular economy sector,” he added.

The head of government assured that Senegal will respect all its international commitments, particularly in terms of greenhouse gas emissions.

“We will exploit opportunities linked to green and blue financing. The capacities of ecosystem players in terms of project development will be strengthened,” he indicated.
