For the sixth consecutive year, the city of Amiens is renewing its Christmas tree collection operation. To do this, 42 collection points, including 4 recycling centers, are available to residents from December 27 to January 31.
Once recovered, the fir trees will be crushed (with the exception of flocked fir trees and fir bases with wire or scrap metal) then “recycled by the Amiens Métropole Green Spaces service to be transformed into mulch in the city's flowerbeds“, explains the municipality in a press release.
Consult the interactive map below to find all the collection points. You can directly select the icons to have possible details on the drop-off location.
Last winter, 6,950 fir trees were collected “to be recycled into 49 tonnes of mulch“. The town hall specifies that “these collection points are exclusively intended“to the fir trees.
All other waste must be placed in the trash cans or “suitable voluntary drop-off points” in order to be sorted and/or revalued.
