the concern of residents of avenue Noël-Franchini

C“It’s a neighborhood that is already disadvantaged, we don’t need this additional project,” affirms Daniel Di Grazia, whose marble work is adjoining the building planned to accommodate a Adoma home. Faced with the project – suspended until now – around fifty local residents gathered on Friday December 20 at the foot of the old chamber of agriculture, plastered with a banner “Adom No”. “On this avenue, there is not a tree planted, not a garden, not even a bench for the elderly,” deplores the merchant, before adding: “When they stop the project, it will mean that we will have been half heard”because the residents are also waiting for the repair and development of theavenue Noël-Franchini.

The project divides

“I think we don’t measure the extent of the people on the streets,” underlines with emotion Loredana, a resident of the neighborhood who herself found herself in need when she was a young mother. “I can tell you that the waiting lists to enter these homes are more than full”she adds, specifying: “We can’t leave them outside.”

Laetitia, at the head of the hairdressing salon located opposite the former chamber of agriculture, questions the location of the residence: “Everyone has the right to a home, but I wouldn’t have done it on this street,” fearing “insecurity” and desertification of its customers. Like her, Franck Vellutini – owner of the eponymous bodywork -, “don’t think avenue Noël-Franchini is the right place”qualifying it as the stooge” to which is added the fear of “devaluation of real estate.”

Residents are especially hoping for a new development of the avenue. Fanny Hamard

“We are in the dark”

When we questioned the businesses located on the avenue, two establishments were not informed of this project, while Béatrice, owner of the beauty institute located next to the building, asked us who this social home would be for. “I am not against this structure, on the contrary, we must help people in need”she says, before adding: “On the other hand, I hope they do something clean and decent.”

For his part, Franck Vellutini tells us: “I am worried, because the truth is that we are in the dark” he laments, emphasizing the lack of communication and the feeling of abandonment he feels regarding the project he learned about last week. “Obviously everyone wants to help the most deprived, but how will it happen? Who will manage it?” he asks himself, before concluding: “The minimum was to talk to us.”
