In the tough and having to familiarize himself with his new environment, Georges Mikautadze took his time at OL. His double against Auxerre at the end of October unlocked everything with a much more efficient end to the year.
It is not his recent change of dye nor his appearance in “Tant qu'il y sera des Gones” which made Georges Mikautadzea new man. The transformation took place a few weeks ago and the end of 2024 has shown great promise for the next semester which begins on January 4. However, nothing has really changed in the daily life of the OL striker. The playing time is approximately the same between mid-August and the end of October (388 minutes) and this end of October and the last match against Feignies Aulnoye (393 minutes). Mikautadze still has to settle for luxury substitute status, even if things are starting to move a little on the attacking front.
One goal per hour for two months
However, with his double against Auxerre on October 27, the Georgian chased away the bad vibes and got into the swing of his new adventure. When he was harvesting at the start of the season (six clear chances for zero goals until Auxerre), today he almost made a goal out of nothing, like the one scored at Angers. More precise, more at ease, Georges Mikautadze becomes strangely more effective again. Of his seven goals scored, five were in the last month of competition. Alone Nice et Frankfurt did not break against the native striker from Gerland and that is worth noting. Because with an average of one goal every hour, Mikautadze shows that he has been in quite a hurry for two months.
