The swimming pools in this Val-d'Oise area closed until January 12

As proof, the agglomeration of Cergy-Pontoise (Val-d'Oise) has just carried out the closing of the six swimming pools of the territory, of which it is responsible for management, from Monday December 16, 2024 until Sunday January 12, 2025 inclusive. Objective: track down economies,

Are targeted: the basins of Ax Majeur and Parvis (as well as the northern basin) in Cergy, Louvrais in Pontoise, Hautil in Vauréal, Cavée in Eragny-sur-Oise and finally Eguerets in Jouy -le-Moutier.

“This targeted period corresponds in fact to lower attendance at swimming pools during the year while energy consumption is the highest”, specifies the agglomeration which estimates that “the cessation of activities” during the winter of 2022 -2023 of all the swimming pools in the former New Town made it possible to achieve a “substantial saving of €184,000”.

“This closure also makes it possible to carry out numerous maintenance works which are essential to the proper functioning of these establishments”, underlines the intercommunity. This is the case for the Parvis, Ax Majeur and Louvrais swimming pools where the winter break will allow “emptying, cleaning and minor maintenance of the pools. »

“Substantial savings”

“In addition to the classic emptying and annual cleaning of these basins, there will be added, depending on the establishment, targeted interventions such as: repair or change of door frames, repair of tile joints, maintenance of electrical and lighting networks, repair in painting of certain structures, work linked to the technical water treatment circuit (filtration, temperature regulation, etc.)… So much work carried out to ensure the best functioning of your swimming pools as soon as they reopen,” indicates the agglomeration.

The closure of the swimming pools is a continuation of the energy conservation plan launched in 2022 by the Cergy-Pontoise agglomeration. The main measures, taken as part of this system following the explosion in energy prices, relate to public lighting, the closure of swimming pools during periods of low attendance and the reduction of temperatures in all community facilities. Three sectors targeted because they alone represent more than 80% of energy expenditure in the former New Town.
