Lansana Sakho sees Cheikh Oumar Diagne as “a vile individual”

While Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye paid tribute, on December 1, 2024, to African riflemen for their courage and their contribution to the world wars, a lively controversy arose after controversial remarks by Cheikh Oumar Diagne. The latter described these heroes as “traitors”, sparking indignation and a wave of indignant reactions.

Among the most critical voices, that of Lansana Sakho was particularly heard. In a text published on Lansana Gagny Sakho stressed the importance of preserving the memory of the riflemen, these soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and dignity of humanity.

They were recruited or forcibly enlisted. There were around 200,000 during the First World War and 140,000 in 1939-1945 fighting for humanity.

In , a monument to black soldiers was erected in the 1920s in the de Tropical Garden to pay tribute to them.

In Dakar a vile individual claims that our heroes are traitors. Whoever betrays is guilty of treason. ➙ informer, perjurer, renegade.

The traitor, the coward is that individual who constantly seeks to be right, to dominate or to value himself to the detriment of others, there is always a risk of betrayal with this type of individual and he has betrayed again.

Unfortunately, this is not his first attempt. Like a traitor he will again level the walls to let the wave pass……
