Discover your city through comics and in a digital format: this is the Webtoon offered by the City of Argenteuil (Val-d'Oise) which called on a specialized company, the studio Citytoto make as many people as possible, especially young people, aware of the wealth of their municipality.

The first Citytoon on an Ile-de-France scale

Argenteuil is the first Citytoon on an Ile-de-France scale, the first episode of which was broadcast on December 11. The project will be divided into ten episodes.

Leo and Lia

The comic features Léo, a brilliant young geek from Argenteuil, who invented his own helmet-glasses connected to a personal artificial intelligence named “Lia”. Léo develops a close relationship with Lia, who pushes him to go out to discover his city, which he does not know due to his time spent in his “Room-Workshop-Computer” (the “CAO”). The adventure begins in the footsteps of Claude Monet at the Impressionist House.

Comics are an opportunity to rack your brains.

For example: “Why does your town of Argenteuil have this name? » Clues: from the Latin Argentoialum, meaning “clear place”; silver wicker trees that once grew in the region; silver thread embroidery made at Argenteuil Abbey in the Middle Ages.

Access to the site is free and without registration. The episode which will be online on the 1st^is January will relate to the Seine and the Regattas, Caillebotte has John B. Kellygold medalist in Rowing, during the 1924 Olympic Games in Argenteuil. A birthday celebrated a few days ago in the presence of Prince Albert II of Monaco who came to inaugurate a fresco dedicated to his grandfather, John B. Kelly/

Rino Della Negra

The third episode, on January 15, will talk about the resistance footballer Rino Della Negra, a young man from Argenteuil whose family had fled fascism in Italy, who joined the Resistance within the FTP-MOI (Francs-tireurs et partisans – Main -of immigrant work) alongside Missak Manouchianrecently pantheonized with his wife.

On January 29, the episode on the railway in Argenteuil will be released, on February 12, the covered walkway (a burial from the Neolithic period) discovered in the 19th century.

February 26 will be dedicated to the buttes of Argenteuil (Châtaigniers, Orgemont, integrated into the Buttes du Parisis) and its mills. March 12: Héloïse and the basilica, Saint-Jean chapel. On March 26, the garden cities (10 years in 2025 of the Garden Cities association. April 9: Argenteuil, a market gardening town with the notebooks of JE Delacroix. And finally, on April 23, the Argenteuil bridge.

Artistic residency

The production of each episode will be enriched by ten days of artistic residency at the Maison Impressionniste d'Argenteuil (21, boulevard Karl-Marx) where several cartoonists and artists will work on the design of the Webtoons.

Meetings and workshops around the Webtoon format will also be organized for young people. The next residency is planned for January 25, on the occasion of reading nights.
