a municipal decree authorizes Santa Claus to fly over the town of Saint-Genis-

The town hall issued an order authorizing Santa Claus to fly over the town on the night of Tuesday December 24 to Wednesday December 25. Instructions are given to residents.

“An extraordinary decree.” In the town of Saint-Genis- (Rhône), young and old alike await the arrival of Santa Claus on the night of Tuesday December 24 to Wednesday December 25. To facilitate his arrival, the municipality issued an order authorizing him to fly over the city.

“Santa Claus is authorized to fly freely over the airspace over the entire territory of the municipality (…) in order to distribute Christmas presents, once the children have fallen asleep. Santa Claus is also authorized to perform loops in the sky and to use the city's charging stations to power his sleigh”, specifies article 1 of the decree.

Santa Claus will also be able to park his sleigh on the roofs, in the streets and in Beauregard Park. “He must repair the tiles that he damages when landing. He may also be accompanied by elves who will help him in this task,” however, specifies article 2 of the decree.

In return, the decree notifies that the children of the town will have to provide a snack, a few biscuits and a glass of milk for the elves and organic carrots for the reindeer, or a drawing for Santa Claus.

“Be careful not to leave garlands lying around in which he could get his feet caught,” warns the municipality, which specifies that the municipal police will be responsible in particular “for the proper use of the celestial route”.

The order will be lifted at the end of Santa's mission.
