the city of inaugurates its first dog park

The municipality inaugurated a new playground for dogs on Monday, December 23. The owners are delighted.

“The place of animals in our lives, and therefore in the city, is fundamental.” A new playground for dogs was inaugurated Monday December 23 in (Alpes-Maritimes).

“We are intensifying our approach by rehabilitating, in the heart of the city, a 400 square meter dog park that is both qualitative, equipped and planted with vegetation, to allow dogs to stretch their legs and exercise in complete safety” , indicates David Lisnard, mayor of Cannes.

“We were just waiting for this”

Located opposite the Square des Frères Gaudino Joly, this park is accessible from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Two play areas (meadow and stable) are available to dogs and their owners, as well as an agility course and canipoches. A fountain was also installed.

“I discovered that it was going to open when they started the work. And, since then, every week, with my dog, we go to check if it is open or not, because we have our own little neighborhood life. All the dogs in the area know each other, we were waiting for that,” explains Cindy, a neighborhood resident and dog owner.

Christine, another dog owner in Cannes, makes the same observation: “The dog is an animal that needs to sniff, to smell nature, to feel a little bit free, to see its peers.” While Anna adds: “It gives them a great amount of time to be able to socialize, meet other dogs, have fun.”

The city of Cannes specifies that no parking space has been removed for the creation of this place.
