Three years in prison, one of which was suspended, with continued detention. This is the sentence to which Marvin Bergeron from Niort and Roméo Likinga Moyenni, a native of Belgium, were sentenced this Monday, December 23, by the La Rochelle judicial court for violence involving kidnapping and sequestration that occurred on December 1is November, in the La Rochelle region. The third man in the punitive expedition based on drug trafficking received only thirty months, eighteen of which were suspended, a sentence that can be modified by wearing an electronic bracelet.
A case without filing a complaint from the victims. The youngest is well known to the courts as a drug trafficker. Five days earlier, he had taken advantage of the semi-freedom regime offered by his detention in Niort to make himself look good and relaunch his business.
The evening of 1is November, he is in Lagord, with his father. Three individuals, who present themselves as consumers, arrive. But in reality, Marvin Bergeron, supplier from Charentais-Maritime, comes to claim his dues, i.e. 1,900 euros of drugs paid for with false notes, with application of a “fine”, for a total of 5,000 euros.
A quiet corner
He would act on the orders of a certain Max. The Lagordais gives 300 euros. Insufficient. His father intervenes. The two are then forced into a stolen car, heading to a quiet area. On arrival, the first takes blows while the second is held on the ground by Roméo Likinga Moyenni. The father agrees to go and withdraw money, under supervision. 300 euros more.
The role of the third would be limited to guarding the car. On the stand, he assures that he would have been forced to participate by an anonymous call threatening his family. Roméo Likinga Moyenni, who has 16 entries in his criminal record, indicates that he was unable to refuse because of a “debt to pay”, but that he intends to get out of delinquency.
The two victims will eventually be released. Without witnesses, there is no doubt that justice would never have had to deal with this case.
