FC Lorient will be the clear favorite in their match against AS Cannes, residents of National 2. But, despite the two divisions difference, the Morbihannais will have to be wary of the Cannes who have already taken out a Ligue 2 club this season, in the French Cup. During the previous round, the Dragons eliminated Grenoble (3-2), 12th in L2, in its Pierre-de-Coubertin stadium.

2 In difficulty in N2 but in good shape
In Pool A of N2, AS Cannes is in difficulty. Damien Ott's men rank 13th out of 16, and first non-relegation, with three wins, six draws and three defeats. This ranking must however be put into perspective because the championship is very close and the ASC played one or even two fewer matches than its opponents. And above all, the Dragons are in good shape.
They remain on two wins and two draws in their last four N2 matches and are undefeated in their last six matches in all competitions. They will play two matches in January before the Coupe de France against FCL.

3 Julien Domingues the serial scorer
The star of AS Cannes is Cheikh N'Doye! The 38-year-old midfielder, having made Angers happy, arrived this summer from Red Star. The former Senegalese international (33 caps) also scored Cannes' third goal against Grenoble on Saturday.
But the man of the Coupe de France on the ASC side is certainly Julien Domingues. Author of a double against GF38, the striker who has just celebrated his 29th birthday has scored eight goals in four matches, including only two starts. The Franco-Portuguese, who played for US Saint-Malo during the covid-19 season (2019-2020), notably scored a quadruple against Alès. He will be closely monitored by the Lorient defense.
