Allison Dagort reinvents Christmas essentials

For the first episode of holiday recipes in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, Allison Dagort takes us into the preparation of her mini-filled puff pastry croissants. The opportunity for her to also tell us about her passion for cooking which she showcases daily on her Instagram page.

In his kitchen, Alisson's gestures are fine and precise. The flour is placed on the work surface of its brand new central island, and the filling in the piping bag is just waiting to be meticulously placed in the puff pastry. For this first episode of Holiday Recipes in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, Allison Dagort pulled out all the stops. On today's menu, mini flaky croissants with salmon, foie gras and curried smoked mackerel.

A gourmet dish, which innovates and revisits the Christmas essentials. But above all, a dish which shows that Saint-Pierraise has many ideas to satisfy the taste buds of her large family: “I am part of a very big family. I have two brothers and four sisters, who also have children. We often meet around the table to share delicious meals. Whether it's during the holidays or on the weekend. That’s where I have fun, they’re a bit of my guinea pigs too.”

It must be said that Saint-Pierraise takes this very seriously. In fact, a few months ago she launched an Instagram account totally dedicated to cooking and its recipes. So regularly, she mixes pots and pans with her smartphone which she uses to film herself in action.

It starts from the pleasure of cooking, but also from creating content. For several years, I have been on social networks. At the beginning, I shared family life more, but lately I like sharing my little recipes.

Between the light, the shots and the sound, every detail counts for this mother of three children. She often takes advantage of the weekend to film. Where the pace of everyday life slows down, and gives him the opportunity to have a little time ahead. “Frankly, I got into the game, and I like it.”

Allison has always loved cooking. The smells of cakes prepared with her mother still lull her to sleep. However, if today she can be considered a good cook, this was not always the case according to her. She even has some pretty strong words about her initial predispositions. “I'm starting from afar because I really wasn't very good at the beginning. It was when I moved in with my partner and someone had to cook that I started doing it.”

But with good will, Allison was able to progress. By watching recipes on television at first, practicing, she quickly gave taste and flavor to all her dishes. “I love eating so much, that I wanted to reproduce it to please myself and please.” And there is no doubt that his meal, planned for Christmas, will also appeal to all the guests seated at his table.
