Echoes of the -Lourdes Union

ELMETS. It was a group of happy elves who burst onto the floor to accompany the U'boys during the team presentation. They came from Aureilhan and Maubourguet and they never stopped encouraging the Union guys until the final whistle. An enthusiasm which undoubtedly counted in the performance of their favorite players.

BANDA. We know the quality of Lous Berretes. To set the mood, they are champions. And this was true again on Friday. And of course, the public did not fail to let themselves be carried away by these musicians who bring joy wherever they go. What an atmosphere!

PIVOT. Tidiane Badiane is in the top five of this 17th day of Nationale 1. With 14 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists and 23 ratings, the guy has finally expressed all his qualities as a warrior. His best match of the season for sure.

DOUBLE. Another player with a double-double, Mo Queta with 12 points and 12 rebounds, for 21 ratings. And this despite some back pain since he had not been able to train all week. The truce will do him good.

MVP. In the absence of Marius Chamber, Tom Wiscart Goetz managed the Union game effectively. 18 points, 12 assists, 11 caused fouls and 23 evaluation. A very good result which earned him the title of MVP of the meeting, shared with Tidiane Badiane.

COUP. We were afraid for Tom a few seconds from the end, when he remained on the ground after a tough contact with a strong Vendéen. But more fear than harm and the leader of the Union quickly recovered his senses to be able to enjoy the evening and the current week of vacation.

YOUNG. 17 minutes of play and 4 points scored for Pierre Hourné Raubet who has just celebrated his 18th birthday. And mission accomplished with talent for the young leader who does not forget the 3×3 with his friends from Ossun.

PROGRES. Spectators were also able to appreciate the progress of Thibault Alexis who is working hard to get back to a good level. 15 minutes of play, 8 points, and a great defensive presence. And it will be even better next year.

SUPPORT. Augustinas Venckus and Marius Chambre were reduced to the role of spectators. Which did not prevent them from experiencing with intensity the adventures of this close match. The captain and the Lithuanian were really in the heart of the action.

THREE. The U'boys will return to training on December 28. But be careful! Stéphane Dao is wary of the harm caused by the Christmas turkey. During the post-match evening, he said with his trademark humor: “We are going to weigh the players before they leave…” And in the event of overweight when returning from vacation, beware of extra training…

GIFTS. Didier Yedra, the president of the Union, wanted to thank the numerous partners who participated in the last post-match of the year, so important for the smooth running of the club. Equally warm thanks for the great caterer Eric, from Audacieux, who offered the evening meal. And thanks also to La mie du Pain, for the pancakes tasted at the end.

POINT. This 6-point success allows the Union to have a favorable point average over the Sables who won 93-89 in the first leg. In the event of a tie in the ranking, it's interesting. So, as Tom Wiscart Goetz pointed out, the extension served a purpose…

REPRISE. The Union's next match will take place on Tuesday January 7 with the reception of Vitré at the Quai de l'Adour. The Bretons are currently 7th with 26 points, 2 lengths behind Bigourdans still in 2nd place with the benefit of the point average over Challans who also has 28 points. What a tight ranking!

The ranking: 1. Quimper 32 points; 2. Tarbes-Lourdes 28 pts; 3. Challans 28 pts; 4. Rounds 27 pts; 5. Levallois 27 pts; 6. Pays de Fougères 27 pts; 7. Vitreous 26 pts; 8. Lorient 26 pts; 9. Toulouse stadium 25 pts; 10. Sables Vendée 24 pts; 11. Rennes 24 pts; 12. Angers 23 pts; 13. Poissy 21 pts; 14. Federal Center 19 pts.
