“The match was lost by penalty to Tours FC. Consequently, FC Lorient is qualified for the round of 16, scheduled for Wednesday January 15, 2025, and will travel to Cannes (N2),” announces the FFF in a press release . “The cancellation of the meeting is the direct consequence of a failure by the organizing club in terms of welcoming the public,” explains the FFF.
The meeting was to take place on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. but it was canceled at midday for security reasons, following findings from the Indre-et-Loire prefecture and the Tours town hall. Following administrative demotions, Tours, still in Ligue 2 six years ago, but in Regional 1 this season, was one of the smallest teams still competing in the Coupe de France at the stage of the 32nd finals.
