This Sunday, December 22, Ruhl beach vibrated to the rhythm of an unmissable Nice tradition: Christmas bathing. From 10:30 a.m., the first curious people and participants gathered to enjoy the activities before the big dive from 11:45 a.m. Bright sunshine and blue skies were there this Sunday.

Born in 1944, after the Liberation, the tradition of Christmas bathing has established itself as an unmissable event during the end of year celebrations in Nice.

Organized by the Fédération Sports et Gymnique du Travail (FSGT) of the Alpes-Maritimes in partnership with the City, the event attracts around a hundred swimmers each year.

The water in the Mediterranean Sea had a temperature of 16°C, but that did not deter the participants. Disguised in Christmas colors, they threw themselves into the water without thinking.
