Strong winds, the funfair stopped, activities canceled in the Côtes d'Armor

Météo has warned: it will blow this Sunday, December 22, 2024! The Côtes d'Armor and Ille-et-Vilaine have even been placed on orange alert, gusts of more than 120 km/h are expected on the coast, almost 100 inland. As a result, municipalities have decided to cancel certain Christmas festivities. The rides at the funfair will not be running today.

The first small squalls and heavy showers have already fallen this Sunday, December 22 morning, but the winds and showers will increase, warns Météo France. Between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., strong gusts of wind are to be feared.

In order to preserve people's safety, Rennes town hall has decided to close the funfair and Christmas markets at the François-Mitterrand mall and Place du Parlement. They will be closed from noon to 7 p.m.

The one at Place Hoche (designer market under marquee) will keep its doors open.

The Christmas markets in Saint-Malo, Dinard and Cancale are also canceled this Sunday.

In Côtes-d'Armor, the Christmas magic that was to envelop Saint-Quay-Portrieux will not take place and the designers' market planned at the Lamballe stud farms will not be able to take place. The tractor parade is being maintained for the moment.

Parks and gardens closed to the public

Due to the risk of falling branches, the parks and gardens of Rennes, Saint-Malo, Dinard, Cancale, and Fougères will keep their doors closed in many cities. The cemeteries in these municipalities will also be closed.
