Who says new year, says good resolutions. The public transport network of the Reims conurbation is announcing several new features on its website this Saturday, December 21, 2024, which will be implemented at the start of next year.

From January 6, 2025, the tram network changes, with the partial terminus stopping at the Reims Center stop. This mode of operation was put in place in January 2024. It provided that one tram in four would not go to the northern terminus of the network, at Neufchâtel, but would stop at the Gare Center stop to turn around. round.

The objective was to strengthen service to the Champagne-Ardenne TGV station, with more frequent passages on this branch, every ten minutes compared to around twenty minutes previously. But users who wish to continue their journey beyond Reims station had to get off the tram and wait for another train to arrive to continue their journey, a significant inconvenience.

One year after its establishment, this partial terminus at the Gare Center stop therefore disappears at the start of the school year in January. Passengers wishing to continue north will no longer need to change trams during their journey. What will happen to the Champagne-Ardenne TGV station? Will the frequency of passage be less important? Difficult to say at the moment because the new timetables have not yet been published.

The work on the Voie des Sacres in the city center, where the new high-level bus line will then pass, is disrupting bus traffic. Diversions have been put in place and delays are piling up. In January 2025, Grand Reims Mobilités announces timetable changes for bus lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10 and 13 and the tram network. Modifications presented as allowing “to improve punctuality”with travel times “adjusted”.

A change of route is also planned for bus line 9, with service to rue du Ruisselet. Detailed timetables, taking these changes into account, will soon be available on the Grand Reims Mobilités website.
