It's going to blow hard on Sunday December 22, 2024 in Seine-Maritime. Météo France has placed the department in yellow warning for strong windlike many other departments.
This alert starts this Saturday at 7 p.m. and extends until Sunday, 10 p.m.
Gusts between 70 and 80 km/h are expected particularly on the Seinomarine coast.
Thunderstorms will accompany the wind
These squalls are the consequence of the depression Enol “located in the West of Norway and a powerful anticyclone located in the North Atlantic, strong gusts will affect the coastal departments of the Channel on Sunday,” forecasters announce.
On Sunday, Seine-Maritime will be affected by violent and frequent gusts from the northwest.
Sunday, from 6 a.m., the department will be placed in yellow alert for thunderstorms. The sky will rumble particularly in the afternoon, still with gusts.
Vigilance is required
The weather will therefore be very turbulent this Sunday with possible showers. The Prefecture of Seine-Maritime therefore calls for caution, while respecting a few instructions:
- Limit your movements and speed on main roads;
- Be vigilant in town regarding potential falling objects;
- Do not walk in the forest or near the sea;
- Do not work on roofs and do not touch electrical wires:
- Store objects sensitive to the effects of wind or likely to be damaged.
Note that it is not excluded, again according to Météo France, that Seine-Maritime goes into orange vigilance for the violent wind parameter. In Calvados and Manche, the SNCF has already interrupted train traffic due to weather conditions.
