At the Etoile gymnique de Colomiers, Léna Franc and Thibault Caillaud, aged 17 and 20 respectively, are part of the handi-gym section created in 2008 within the association chaired by Frédéric Venouil. Today under the direction of its coach Béatrice Boileau, the EGC has become a reference in the discipline's adapted sport. Proof of this is that the Columérin club can boast of being the one which brings the most participants to the French championships.
Léna Franc has been practicing disabled trampoline for more than seven years. Qualified for the last French championships in Cognac, she is a regular on the podiums with a new title in 2024, after that acquired in 2021 and a third place in 2023. “My objective is now to obtain a third national title” confided the one who recognizes that what she likes most in this discipline “is doing tricks”.
During the last four years, Thibault Caillaud has also performed successfully. Passionate about competition, he also won a French champion title in Charente. A first place acquired after a vice-champion title the previous year. “I am proud of my progress year after year” he admits. The young man has since turned to the practice of team sports, always with the same passion that characterizes him.
Both were among the 'Sportsmen of the Year' awarded two months ago. A satisfaction for their coach, “they are very diligent both in training and in competition. Performing in the context of the French championships is a real challenge for them and they give themselves every time to succeed” concludes Béatrice Boileau, proud of her foals.
