His intrusion generated enough noise to alert an intern who was having lunch in the staff area. The intruder, armed with a hammer, threatened him and forced him to accompany him. “Obviously, the suspect had carefully prepared his attack,” explains Rémi Herault, manager of the store. “He focused on the windows, breaking a window with his hammer to gain access to the products. » The thief targeted luxury items, including leather goods, jewelry, hair dryers from a famous brand, as well as around a hundred phones from various brands. The damage is estimated at around 100,000 euros but the inventory was far from finished this Friday.

Open investigation

Once the suspect left, the alert was raised, leading to the intervention of the gendarmes, accompanied by criminal investigation technicians. CCTV camera recordings were analyzed, while staff were allowed to clean the scene. The store remained closed for much of the afternoon. Shocked, the intern returned home. Complaint has been filed.

Since its opening in February 2016, Easy Cash has regularly been the target of burglaries. Between 2016 and the end of 2017, three thefts were recorded there, the last dating from August 2024. After each break-in, additional security measures were put in place, without however deterring imaginative criminals.
