A Christmas present… just before Christmas, for the inhabitants of these cities. There Brice bakeryundisputed champion of the croissant in the region, opens two new addresses in the metropolis de Lille (North), Friday December 20 and Saturday December 21, 2024. Visit one of the two shops, where it’s bustling in all directions as the curtain approaches.

Two openings in two days, in Pérenchies and

Friday December 20, Brice will open in Croix, right in the city centerin a long building, “full of charm”, smiles Marion Brice, associated with her brother Maxime in this great entrepreneurial adventure.

On Saturday 21, it will be in Pérenchies that the first customers will be able to discover the wide range of breads and pastries from the artisan, in a large shop located very close to the church, Place du Général de Gaulle. It was on this site that the duo welcomed us, in the final preparations.

Long-awaited openings

The sign is just hanging outside, the oven installed after three days of assembly. Maxime does the first tests. “He’s been there since 1 a.m.,” Marion tells us, who shows us the pretty counter in the sales area, ready to welcome the delicacies. Large lit windows, exposed brick wall, view of the oven… “As you can see, we follow the codes of the other stores. We redid everything here so that people can find what they know. » Since July, they have carried out a major project in this space of around 200m2 .

The team senses the expectations of residents, who write to them regularly on social networks. “We are eagerly awaited, people send us a lot of messages,” marvels Marion, always surprised to have so many fans, who have even become brand ambassadors.

Six bakeries in the metropolis

It’s a real success story for the brand, which will soon be 10 years old! But Marion and Maxime insist: they want to keep this touch that has made their reputation. “We make good, artisanal products. Everything is prepared on site.” In fact, each store has its own workshop, in which artisans prepare the specialties from A to Z.

“They are real bakers, who work with raw materials. There is no frozen preparation like in many chains. We hold on to this identity. »

With these two openings, Brice will have six stores in the Lille metropolis. “We had spotted the Croix premises a while ago. These are opportunities that we seize,” confides Maxime between two test batches.

The chef baker’s surprises

“We have a great team of motivated people. The quality is there. The day it drops, if that is the case, we will refocus on the essentials,” confides Marion. That is to say, naturally leavened bread, left for the right amount of time, croissants and pain au chocolat (with three bars!) which sometimes bring customers from far away, and surprises from the “chef”. “Puff pastry is really our specialty,” confirms Marion.

For the holidays, in addition to bread and classic pastries and tarts, like last year you will be able to find panettones. It will be possible to order until Sunday for Christmas, and otherwise two days in advance. Please note that soon a galette des rois specially designed to celebrate Brice’s 10th anniversary. But that’s another subject…
