Filing of complaint, summons to the police station: in , these elected officials are torn apart following the damage to a car

The political world is used to producing vaudevilles. The one currently being played out in is, however, rarer. This Thursday, December 19, Charles Compagnon, elected (Horizons) in opposition to the mayor of Rennes Nathalie Appéré, and Loïck Le Brun, also an opposition municipal councilor from the right and the center, organized a press conference to denounce the injustice of which they claim to be victims. This week, the two elected officials were questioned at the Maurepas police station because they are suspected of having damaged the vehicle of Ludovic Brossard, municipal councilor of the majority.

It all starts during the municipal council of October 14, 2024. At the end of said council, Ludovic Brossard, delegate for urban agriculture and sustainable food, finds his car damaged with “RN” inscriptions and two penises drawn on his vehicle .

Brossard filed a complaint against

He then decides to file a complaint. Contacted, Ludovic Brossard explains that his complaint was not directly aimed at the two opposition figures. “I filed a complaint against X following damage to my personal vehicle, some of which was of a political nature. During my interview, the police asked me what could have explained this fact. I told them about the insults I had previously received on social media. I also told them that, during the municipal council meeting that evening, I had been verbally threatened by Charles Compagnon and Loïck Le Brun. But there is no proven link with the deterioration of my vehicle. I have complete confidence in the police who are investigating. »

It doesn’t make us laugh at all

Opposition elected officials were therefore called upon to explain themselves. A summons which makes the two accused jump. “At the beginning, we said to ourselves that it might make us laugh, but it doesn’t make us laugh at all,” says Charles Compagnon. We had to justify our schedule. The police had to look at where my cell phone had gone. They are in their role, but we arrive as suspects at the police station. It’s extremely unpleasant. »

As for the threats they allegedly made against Ludovic Brossard, they fiercely deny. “Mr Brossard has been insulting Charles Compagnon for months on social networks. I told him that we were going to take care of his case, but his political case, nothing else,” defends Loïck Le Brun. Who claims that his “audition lasted 20 minutes. But for an elected official to say that another elected official is capable of doing that, I would never have thought that that would happen in Rennes. It’s insulting,” adds Loïck Le Brun.

A “lack of respect towards the opposition”

The two municipal councilors are also angry with the mayor of Rennes, Nathalie Appéré. “We asked to see her to inform her of the situation. But on Wednesday, she refused us and it was her chief of staff that we saw and who explained to us that he was aware. » Contacted, the mayor’s office does not wish to comment on this matter. “That Madame Appéré does not even receive us and does nothing shows her lack of respect towards the opposition,” judges Loïck Le Brun.

The latter indicates that he filed a complaint on Tuesday, the day he was summoned. Charles Compagnon, for his part, affirms that he will file a complaint this Friday morning at the Maurepas police station “for slanderous denunciation with political aims”.
