It is a collective of environmental defense associations which intends to make its voice heard before the Agglomeration Council.
The collective is mobilizing to demand less construction on agricultural land in the Annecy basin.
A local intercommunal urban planning plan “not ambitious enough”
The associations are calling for a more ambitious local intercommunal urban planning plan (PLUI) by stopping the artificialization of agricultural land to achieve 10% food autonomy in 2030.
“The elected officials of Greater Annecy will adopt on December 19 a first version of the PLUi which plans to concrete 250 hectares of agricultural land by 2040. Is it acceptable to continue such artificialization in a territory already in great tension both in terms of water resources, air quality and degradation of the natural environment). Do we have the right to worsen climate change and the collapse of biodiversity? asks the collective.
A first vote this Thursday
The mobilization comes as a first version of the PLUI must be submitted to a vote by community councilors this Thursday evening. The other major item on the Agglomeration Council’s agenda is the 2025 budget.
Gathering from 5:30 p.m. in front of the Imperial in Annecy.
