he leaves prison and is arrested the next day for driving under drugs

His return to freedom was short-lived.

On December 9, the day after his release from detention on semi-release, a 21-year-old young man was arrested in Villefranche-sur-Saône, boulevard Général Leclerc, by the police. Not holding a driving license, he tested positive for THC and carried 1 g of cocaine with him, specifies Progress.

The facts led to his placement in police custody, during which he refused to give the code of his phone to investigators. During his immediate appearance, the defendant claimed to have moved the car a few meters so as not to obstruct access to a parking space reserved for disabled people.

His criminal record, already loaded with eight mentions, weighed in the balance. During the hearing, he also had to explain an incident that occurred last August while he was in detention. The latter had “a taco” delivered to him by an accomplice.

The public prosecutor requested 18 months in prison with continued detention and the revocation of two probationary suspensions. Faced with these requests, the defendant’s lawyer argued in favor of wearing an electronic bracelet, emphasizing his client’s youth and his desire to change direction.

The Villefranche-sur-Saône criminal court finally sentenced the young man to 9 months in prison with continued detention, as well as the revocation of his two suspended sentences of 1 and 4 months. In total, the sentence amounts to 14 months in prison.
