Starlight Canada Foundation and Toys“R”Us Canada brighten the holidays for families of seriously ill children

On Sunday, December 15, 2024, the Starlight Canada Foundation, in partnership with Toys“R”Us Canada, brought the magic of the holidays to families facing the challenges of serious illness. This special event took place in 11 Toys“R”Us stores across Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec.

To make this festive season a little sweeter, Toys“R”Us Canada hosted private shopping sessions for Starlight families while stores were closed to the public. The children, accompanied by their brothers and sisters, received gift cards to spend in store, allowing them to choose the toys they liked the most. The experience was enhanced by magical encounters with Santa, superheroes, princesses and other beloved characters.

Thanks to this program, approximately 750 families across Canada were able to experience a moment of joy and respite in 2024. This commitment to families in difficulty is a great demonstration of solidarity and hope during the holiday season.

Next year, the Starlight Canada Foundation will continue its support with initiatives such as the Motomax, Drive For Smiles, Trick or Suite programs, toy shipments to hospitals and, of course, Secret Santa in Toys“R”Us stores across the country.

Through initiatives like these, the Starlight Foundation and Toys“R”Us Canada continue to make a difference in the lives of children and their families this holiday season and throughout the year.
