The seventh week was to be the last for Romain Gibon. The young sales manager at Feuillette in Mondeville, near Caen (Calvados), had been eliminated from the show The Best Pastry Chef on M6. But that was without counting on his victory in the parallel program Best pastry chef: Who will return to the tent?
“A lot of pressure on the shoulders” for Romain Gibon on M6
Romain had come to terms with the idea that the competition was indeed over, after his elimination. Without pressure, he nevertheless participates in the subordinate show: I participated to have fun, to laugh. At that moment, I had no regrets, because I was proud of my achievements,” he confides to Liberty Caen.
From twist to twist, he finally wins the side show and returns to Le Meilleur Pâtissier: “I was so happy and grateful. This side adventure was awesome, I ran a lot, but I had a lot of fun too. On the other hand, my first emotion was: what am I going to do? I had a lot of pressure on the shoulders. »
On the big day, the candidate is stressed, but very happy: “I had a lot of adrenaline. I really wanted nothing to leak, for it to be a complete surprise for the other candidates. I hid, I had to be discreet, which a priori is not my strong suit! They were surprised by my return, but they expected it. »
A turning point in the adventure
A smashing comeback for Romain. This second chance has a flavor particular for him. “There really was a turning point in my adventure. From then on, I knew what eliminations were. I let go and took full advantage. I decided to open up more, to show who I am. »
The public was able to discover his return in images during the program broadcast on Thursday December 12, 2024 on M6. For him, it was also an opportunity to confide : “It was an important subject of talk about my homosexualitybecause when I was a kid, I would have liked people to talk about it freely on TV. »
