The month of December, a month of shared celebrations, will see the renewal of a so-called Christmas concert, on December 20 at 8:30 p.m., in the frescoed church.
Initiated by the town hall, it is an event offered to the population, with a price of €10 (free for under 18s) as the mayor explains. “We are renewing the Christmas concert operation with Swing Gospel music and singing on the menu this year.”
The selected group comes from the Albigensian region and is headed by Isabelle Bertoli, professional singer, singing teacher and vocal coach.
An evening of gospel swing not to be missed
Today, with over 25 years of experience, she leads around fifteen artists, musicians and singers who offer a real show of gospel swing, the name of the eponymous group.
With José Licenziato on the keyboard, the visually impaired pianist who has devoted himself to musical accompaniment for many years and had already come to perform in Alban.
There is no doubt that this sung style, coming from a long tradition of Negro Spiritual, will express all the emotion produced by titles such as Glory Hallelujah, or When the saints go marching’in.
The whole testifying to a fervor inherited from the dark period of slavery.
