Pierre-d’Albigny – Les Frontailles College shines in the 2024 public reading competition

This Monday, December 16, Les Frontailles college was in the spotlight during the 2024 public reading competition which had the theme “Night”. Winner of this edition, the establishment was awarded a batch of 300 works (novels, comics, mangas and documentary books) worth €2,000, thus enriching its documentation and information center.

The Savoie and Haute-Savoie Biblio team, Nathalie Schmitt, vice-president of the Department of Savoie responsible for youth and colleges, and Renaud Beretti, vice-president of the Department of Savoie responsible for finance, culture and heritage, visited the establishment for the official presentation of the prizes won.

The competition, organized in partnership with Short Éditions, had the theme “Night” and was aimed at young people aged 10 to 16. Participants, whether they competed individually or in groups, had the opportunity to express their creativity through voluntary writing workshops. The college thus won both the Jury Prize and the Audience Prize for two remarkable texts, “My good star” and “My star”.

In total, 336 young people took up the challenge. In the “College” category, 71 works have been deposited, including those from Les Frontailles college.

Les Frontailles college shares this honor with two other establishments in the region: EBiHS in and Jean-Jacques Gallay college in Scionzier.

The CDI at Les Frontailles college will now be able to offer its students expanded access to diverse literary resources, helping to nourish their passion for reading and writing. Building on this success, the establishment plans to intensify its activities around literature and increase the number of collective projects.
