third section of road works

Supporting slideshow, Denis Arndt, works assistant, and the project manager presented the schedule and sequencing of operations, while answering questions, Monday evening, December 16 at the Wintzenheim sports center, during one of the two information meetings initiated by the municipality.

“We cannot perform miracles”

As with sections 1 and 2, the third section – which extends from rue du Bouleau to rue du Flaxland – will result in a series of access restrictions and diversions. “Be understanding, it will not be easy, there will be difficulties, but we cannot perform miracles. The technical services of the town hall are listening to local residents, who will be notified by the companies when there will be work on their property,” explained the mayor of Wintzenheim, Serge Nicole, to respond to the concern residents, particularly those residing in collective housing, with many vehicles in circulation. But pedestrian access to housing will still be maintained.

Prior to the road work, Colmarienne des Eaux and the Gantzer company will work on the water and sanitation networks from January 13.

The actual road works will be undertaken by the Colas and Pontiggia companies from March 17 and until July 28, 2025.

As the two previous sections are not completely finished, there will still be road work on the north and south sides of the Auchan roundabout, from February 10 to March 15.

Finally, the work of planting plants, trees and shrubs on the central valley, and around the sidewalks, will be carried out by the company Thierry Muller from January 20.

To answer a question, it was specified that the central valley was capable of absorbing runoff water, even in the event of significant precipitation, by means of infiltration trenches allowing the water to be diffused under the roadway.

Currently, the asphalt is being laid on the traffic lanes of the second section, which will be open to automobile traffic this Friday, December 20.

More detailed information will be communicated to local residents as the work progresses, which remains dependent on weather conditions.
