[EURO 2024] The medalists and players of the Women’s Handball League who distinguished themselves during the competition

The EHF EURO 2024 closed last weekend with the new coronation of Norway, who beat Denmark in the final of the competition. Hungary finished in third place following its victory against the French team, which came close to adding a new international medal to its record. Three players from the Women’s Handball League won a medal in this EHF EURO 2024 with the Dane Anne Mette Hansen ( Handball) and the Hungarians Petra Vamos (Metz Handball) and Zsofi Szemerey (Metz Handball).

With 40 goals in nine games, Anne Mette Hansen had a great competition with Denmark. The Metz handball guard is positioned in eighth place in the EHF EURO 2024 scorers ranking, and will have greatly contributed to the great Danish epic, which ended with a silver medal. Among the LFH players who shone in this competition, Chloe Valentini (Metz) once again proved valuable in the ranks of the French team, with 35 goals scored, the best French record. Daphne Gautschi (Plan de Cuques) played an important role in the Swiss collective (34 goals) which played in the main round of the competition.

Among the guards, Zsofi Szemerey (Metz handball) had a high-level competition with Hungary (73 saves, 38.6%). Katharina Filter () also shone with good performances in the German goals (54 saves, 35.7%).

Special mention for Petra Let’s go (Metz handball) who delivered no less than 41 assists to her Hungarian partners in this EHF EURO 2024. She ranks third in the competition in this exercise. Anne Mette Hansen (29 passes), Daphne Gautschi (28 passes), Laura Flippes (Metz handball, 26 passes) and Annika Lott (Brest, 23 assists) also distinguished themselves in this area. Also note the 21 assists delivered by Pauletta Foppa (Brest) who occupies the pivot position.


Finally, for the “shifted” statistic, the LFH player who scored the fastest goal of this EHF EURO 2024 is Daphne Gautschi with a shot at 111.64 km/h, just ahead Domain of Grandveau (107.03 km/h) and Petra Vamos (103.25 km/h).
