In Saint-Pierre-Quiberon, the Envolée association brought together its members on Tuesday, December 17, at the Bard des Sports to celebrate the end-of-year holidays. The opportunity to discuss the projects which will still be numerous for the year 2025, such as with the “memory cafés” which are aimed at people suffering from Alzheimer’s or related disease, their caregivers as well as people single people who want to meet other people to talk and have fun.
“For a more inclusive municipality”
“We are currently working on the file so that Saint-Pierre-Quiberon signs the “Alzheimer’s Helping City” charter,” indicated the president of the association, Philippe Chevalier. “It would be an additional step for a more inclusive municipality, serving patients and caregivers,” he continued.
What does this mean? “By signing the “Alzheimer Helping City” charter, municipalities undertake to facilitate knowledge and the deployment of actions in favor of sick people and their families,” we can read on the France Alzheimer website. The objective? “Promote the inclusion of families affected by the disease”.
Activities to stimulate memory
According to the latest figures, seven Morbihan municipalities have already signed this charter: Baden, Languidic, Nostang, Vannes, Ploeren, Saint-Avé, Séné. And two sports clubs also participate: the ES Club Plescop-Grand-champ Table tennis and Garde du Vœu Hennebont Table tennis
In 2025, the Envolée association will also continue its activities with meetings following the year’s calendar with the traditional galette des rois, pancakes for Candlemas or even chocolate tastings at Easter. “The storytellers and the choir will still come and liven up the memory café in addition to the games and songs. So many opportunities to stimulate memory while having a good time,” continued Françoise Livory, secretary of the Envolée association.
