guided by its GPS towards the city of Moulins, an American couple aboard a Ferrari robbed and beaten

They wanted to go to a post office, they were deprived of more than 15,000 euros in cash as well as all their personal effects.

Looking for a post office to drop off a package Monday morning, an American couple naturally relied on their GPS to guide them to the nearest counter. Bad luck, it was towards the Republican reconquest district of Les Moulins that the two foreigners were directed. Driving a yellow Ferrari F8, they did not go unnoticed when they arrived in the city, at the very lively Place des Amaryllis.

In front of the post office, the motorist stopped to drop off his wife before parking a little further away. It didn’t take more than a minute for a gang of three individuals to arrive, determined to line their pockets. They first opened the passenger side door, grabbing the wife’s Hermès handbag which contained $5,000 in cash as well as a good part of her personal effects (phone, credit card, identity papers, etc. .)

“They literally dragged him to the sidewalk”

After which they attacked the driver who was pulled out of his sports car with heavy punches. “They literally dragged him on the sidewalk while hitting him”reports a police source. The trio then tried to seize the victim’s Rolex, worth 60,000 euros. In vain. Despite the blows, the man did not give in. However, he was unable to save his pair of sunglasses worth 2,000 euros as well as his Louis Vuitton bag containing 8,000 dollars and 3,000 euros in cash.

The thugs, however, did not touch the couple’s Ferrari, estimated at more than 150,000 euros. They then fled, leaving the victim stunned on the sidewalk. A complaint was filed and an investigation opened by the public prosecutor’s office. The investigations were entrusted to the local Judicial Police Service. As of Wednesday, none of the three perpetrators had yet been arrested.
