A credit to reduce speed fails in Vendlincourt and budgets adopted in several municipalities

The municipal assembly of Vendlincourt refused Tuesday evening a significant credit to allow speed reduction in the Ajoulot village. The planned sum amounted to more than a million francs and was intended for the 30 km/h zone of several streets as well as the repair of the Alle road. The project also included the creation of a 20 km/h meeting zone around the school. The whole aim, in particular, was to secure the path of schoolchildren to the station. The vote by secret ballot was requested Tuesday evening during the meeting and the credit was rejected by two-thirds of the 93 citizens present. The mayor of Vendlincourt, Anne Sulliger, says she is “obviously disappointed”. She also notes that communication was lacking to better explain the issue to the population. Anne Sulliger emphasizes that the project included “a modification of the entire way of getting around in the village”. She says she does not know at the moment whether the municipal authorities could modify the concept with the aim of submitting it again to citizens in another form. “We need to meet up to discuss it,” said the mayor of Vendlincourt.

The 2025 budget, which provides for a deficit of 93,000 francs, was also adopted Tuesday evening in Vendlincourt.

Budgets validated in Grandfontaine, Alle and Bémont

Accounting forecasts for 2025 were also on the menu in three other villages on Tuesday evening. The Grandfontaine budget, which is counting on a deficit of 10,000 francs, has been approved, as well as appropriations of 36,000 francs for the revision of the PAL and 17,000 francs for the implementation of the Special Plan “Sur le rang” .

On the Alle side, the budget which includes several credits providing for a profit of 31,000 francs was also adopted.

Finally, in Bémont, the municipal assembly validated the 2025 budget which expects a deficit of 40,000 francs. An additional credit of 11,500 francs for the repair of the street in La Bosse was also approved. /fco
