The Kingdom is also strongly committed to other global issues and challenges, which transcend traditional borders and local specificities, including climate change, food security and even the migration issue, he noted during this meeting, organized at the initiative of the two Chambers of the Moroccan Parliament, in collaboration with the “Foundation of Meetings of the Future” and the Chilean Chamber of Deputies and Senate.
Aware of the scale of these challenges, he maintained, Morocco has adopted a proactive approach based on development strategies, capable of consolidating efforts aimed at ensuring energy sovereignty and accelerating the transition towards an economy green, in accordance with the objectives of the “Long-term Low Carbon Strategy 2050”, submitted by the Kingdom to the United Nations at the end of 2021.
The President of the House of Advisors, in this regard, recalled the leading role played by the Kingdom, under the wise leadership of the Sovereign, in the launch and support of a number of development and solidarity initiatives aimed at develop various partnerships, particularly in the Arab, African, Latin American and Caribbean regions.
Referring to the issue of migration, Mr. Ould Errachid considered that the management of this phenomenon, which has taken on alarming dimensions, requires a humanitarian vision reconciling national sovereignty and the rights of migrants, adding that Morocco is a “model” to follow. in this matter.
On the other hand, he emphasized the “strong symbolism” of the organization of the Congress of the Future by the Moroccan Parliament, which reflects, according to him, the leadership and confidence enjoyed by Morocco at the international and regional levels. , under the wise leadership of His Majesty the King, as well as the quality of the distinguished and long-standing relations uniting Morocco and Chile.
Holding this edition in Morocco is also part of efforts to promote this initiative at the level of the African continent, especially since the Kingdom has engaged in South-South cooperation and support for initiatives of development and solidarity one of the main pillars of its African policy.
The Congress of the Future constitutes a space for debate on the challenges and issues on the international agenda and on the future of Humanity. It has grown to become a platform for creating ideas that can support future decisions and realize practical solutions to address the major transformations that global societies will face in the future.
