This Monday, December 16, supporters of USAG Uckange 1923 (R1) learned of the arrival of Joris Delle in their club. The former FC Metz goalkeeper (2004-2012) is back in Moselle twelve years after his departure for OGC Nice.
Nostalgia hit the Moselle this Monday with the announcement of the arrival of Joris Delle at USAG Uckange 1923. The former FC Metz goalkeeper left the department in July 2012 after the relegation of his training club to the National. Now aged 34, he has been without a contract since leaving KV Kortrijk (Belgium) in July 2023.
A return to basics in an unfinished career
Great hope of French football with several selections among young people, Joris Delle signed his first professional contract with FC Metz in 2007 but played his first match with the flag team in 2010. Despite a promising season (28 Ligue 2 matches including 11 without conceding a goal), he will however have to face tough competition with Oumar Sissoko et Anthony Mfa Mezui the following year (10 Ligue 2 matches, 4 clean sheets).
He then signed for OGC Nice where his past injuries would follow him (15 Ligue 1 matches between 2012 and 2015). During this time, the native of Briey (Meurthe-et-Moselle) was loaned for a season to Cercle Bruges (2013-2014). The goalkeeper then joined RC Lens for the 2015-2016 financial year where he found playing time in Ligue 2. Then, the Netherlands asked him for a three-year adventure in Nijmegen (2016-2018) and Feyenoord ( 2018-2019). Subsequently, the former Garnet left for a season in South Africa with the Orlando Pirates (2019-2020). However, he returned to Belgium with KV Kortrijk (2021-2023). With only 201 matches played in all competitions, the career of Joris Delle has many regrets. At 34, he is giving himself a probable final challenge in the current tenth place in Pool A of Regional 1.
The former French international hopeful will have the opportunity to play his first match in the Uckangeois jersey at home on Sunday February 2, 2025 against Etoile Sportive de Fagnières.
