Around 2:30 a.m., on the night of Saturday December 7 to Sunday December 8, a Citroën C1 showed up at the home of a 37-year-old woman and her 16-year-old son.

The mother speaks briefly with the driver. In the passenger seat, she glimpses a young girl who, she only realizes afterwards, resembles Morgane.

The driver, a young man of 21, asks to speak to son fils adolescent. The driver and the two teenagers seem to know each other via THE social networks.

“It seemed to this woman that the driver wanted to leave the teenager here and leave alone,” says the prosecutor. Faced with her refusal, he takes the road again with his passenger. Monday, December 9, this woman will go to the nearest police station to testify.

Located in Coutances

On Tuesday, December 10, this 21-year-old driver fromIlle-et-Vilaine is located by the gendarmerie services at the FJT Espace Jeunes in Coutances, in Manche.

Morgane is found “safe and sound” inside her room, locked and located on the ground floor.

The young man, who works in a jewelry store of Coutances for a month”, is arrested without difficulty at his workplace in the process and placed in police custody at 10:25 a.m.

When he arrived at the FJT, they would both be “a priori passed through an emergency exit,” confirms the prosecutor, to enter the home managed by the city ​​hall. But also “discreetly left” at least once “by mutual agreement” to go to New Aquitaine.

The girl reported to investigators several arguments before his disappearance: one with his parents against a backdrop of “excessive” use of his social networks, the other “with his friends at college ».

The public prosecutor did not make any statements on the date on which Morgane arrived in Coutances.

However, she indicated that she had not been able to go out for 15 days, that she had not had intimate relations with the young man, that the shutters were closed and that she had free access to her connected computer. […] She said she argued with him and was hit on the head when she criticized him for not taking care of her enough and said she was hungry.

Thecriminal record of the young man only includes a conviction for speedingin 2022. Contrary to what has been said, his name does not appear in the automated judicial file of perpetrators of sexual or violent offenses (Fijais).

However, this young man was to appear this Wednesday, December 11 before the Beauvais court…for similar acts of subtraction of minors occurring in the spring of 2024 in Oise .

“Safe” in Côtes-d’Armor

Morgane, 13 years old, and this young man of 21 years old both maintain a “virtual social life” supported on social networks. They would have “known” each other on Snapchat “about 3 months ago”.

She then presented herself as being 14 years old, said she was a victim of harassment, made suicidal comments and showed scarifications. On November 24, she allegedly asked him to come pick her up because she said she was not feeling well.

Everything suggests that Morgane spent most of her time at the FJT, in the presence and absence of the tenant of the room. The latter claimed that he had shown him how to leave the room without a key.

“He declared that she had enough to eat,” continues the prosecutor, “that he said he was stressed and distressed by this situation, not safe in her company. He considers himself at fault, knows his age and build difference with her. He is aware of having committed acts of the same nature and feared being taken into police custody again. »

The teenager and the young man agree on the fact that they did not have intimate relations. The young man was placed in pre-trial detention pour kidnapping and sequestrationona minor under 15 years old.

The investigation continues to determine whether Morgane “was held against her will or not”. She left Coutances and is now “safe” in Côtes-d’Armor.
