digital workshops are successful

The Lot and Tolzac community of communes organized, Thursday, December 5, a workshop on cybersecurity, at the Coup D'R café, in partnership with the Transnumeric 47 association. This meeting follows a survey launched by the community , last year, with its citizens, in order to find out “their IT needs”.

The number of positive responses prompted it to organize a series of workshops, like the one at the beginning of the month, covering various themes around digital technology: online procedures, email management, document scanning, among others.

Twenty people took part in the one concerning cybersecurity, some coming from beyond the borders of Lot and Tolzac, since they were residents of Casseneuil or even Saint-Barthélémy-d'Agenais. The challenge of this workshop was to understand how not to be trapped on the Internet, identify threats and, above all, how to counter them.

Paul Blochet, Services digital advisor and host of the day, detailed what phishing is, namely stealing personal data (which can be sold at a high price). He also focused on malwaire, or malicious software, whose aim is to harm the system, viruses, ransomware, which blocks certain folders, or even the computer, in order to extort money, and on fraud linked to online purchases, which are more and more present these days. There is also a government site to counter these various attacks: sibermalveillance.gouv.fr.

The next and last digital workshop, organized by the community and Transnumeric 47, will take place at the third place of Monclar-d'Agenais, next to the town hall, Thursday December 12, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The theme is: “Scan and upload documents to the Internet”.

Free. Registration on 05 53 84 82 48.
