A charter distributed by notaries

It will be made available in town halls and distributed by notaries for rural home buyers . It recalls the importance of agriculture in the Finistère economy and gives some landmarks pour to understandthe meaning of what some consider to be nuisances: spreading, increased activity at certain times of the year, the use of phytosanitary products, etc.

Even 40 years ago, each of us had a family connection to the agricultural sector. This is no longer the case today. However, from ignorance arises distrust and this distrust can lead to conflicts.

The idea of ​​the charter is to contribute to restore link . “Farmers, discouraged by criticism, need to make their profession known and recognized,” also underlines Jean-Hervé Caugant, president of the Chamber of Agriculture. It was the Young Farmers of Finistère who proposed the creation of this charter which is inspired by a Morbihan initiative.

A good neighbor clause

It is accompanied by a good neighbor clause which will be integrated into the sales documents.

“This document has no binding value. It does not constitute renunciation of the appeal, specifies the president of the Department. It's a information and awareness documentwhich can serve as the basis for an exchange when purchasing a property. »

The clause states what the law says. We read, for example: “Every neighborhood relationship can cause inconvenience, the fact remains that it does not necessarily characterize an abnormal disorder. […] The fact of practicing one's profession as a farmer is not, in itself, abnormal, even if agricultural activities, by their nature, their recurrence and their intensity, can generate some inconveniences for the neighborhood. »

In the departmental agricultural plan, other actions aim to contribute to the promotion of the profession among the population: subsidies granted to agricultural fairs and festivals and the organization of farm visits for 4th grade middle school students.
