You will have to be careful not to make a mistake. From January 6, 2025, Île-de- Mobilités will change the number of more thana hundred lines bus in Essonne. This change aims to make the department's bus lines “more readable and simpler”.

Facilitate journey searches for travelers

As a reminder, the Ile-de-France bus network is made up of nearly 1,900 lines, including 1,500 in the greater suburbs. “The current numbering results in having many lines with the same number. Timetable and route search tools are regional, so it is often complicated to find his figure. For example, there are 13 bus lines which bear the number 103,” explains Île-de-France Mobilités.

The change of number will therefore allow travelers to “find their bus line more easily when searching for timetables or routes on a dedicated application”, because she will be the only one in Île-de-France to carry this number.

To do this, Île-de-France was divided into departments and sectors, which each have a specific code.

The old line number taken over in certain cases

In the Évry Center Essonne area, all bus lines will now start par 42. While in the territory of Cœur d’Essonne all bus lines will start with number 45.

“Whenever possible, the old number has been taken over to facilitate change. For example, line 401 will become line 4201, line 404 will become line 4204,” specifies the institution.

Express line numbers will begin with their department number. For example, line M154 becomes 9114, and line 108 becomes 9118.
