The magic of Christmas will take over the streets of Montélimar (Drôme), from this Friday, December 6, until Sunday, January 5. Residents are invited to the Émile-Loubet intercommunal theater, from 7 p.m., for the mayor's speech to the population and the lighting of the theater with fireworks.
The shooting zone will be located in front of the theater. This pyrotechnic show, which will light up Montélimar with 1,000 lights, will kick off Christmas activities in the town.
Consequences on traffic
Here are the highlights of the festivities not to be missed:
- a Christmas market on Place de l'Europe and at the bottom of rue Pierre-Julien with 20 artisan chalets;
- an ice rink and rides in the public garden;
- a rich program at the theater and the conservatory with acrobats, clowns, puppets…
- Santa’s house at 21 rue Pierre-Julien;
- the big Christmas parade on December 20.

This Friday, December 6, the fireworks show will have consequences on traffic in the city center. In a Facebook post, the City informs its citizens that from 6 p.m. traffic will be restricted. Diversions will be put in place on several axes in the city center, in order to facilitate travel.
Streets in the city center will be closed to parking from 2 p.m. until 11 p.m.
The Adhémar car park (theatre overhead car park) will be closed to parking from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Exiting the theater's underground car park will be prohibited from 6:50 p.m. and for the duration of the fireworks display.
For easy parking during the holidays:
- the first two hours free at the Saint-Martin car park;
- the free parking at the Palais des Congrès, located a five-minute walk from the city center.
