Faced with the large crowds expected in the coming days for the Saint-Nicolas festivities, state services are strengthening their security measures. The prefecture of Meurthe-et-Moselle also announces a decree relating to the use, carrying and transport of fireworks and pyrotechnic articles.
To accompany the Saint-Nicolas celebrations, state services are deploying a security system. At the party locations, security forces and the Sentinel system will be mobilized to ensure the safety of property and people during the events planned for the weekends of December 6 to 9 and December 13 to 16, 2024, informs the prefecture of Meurthe-et-Moselle.
Françoise Souliman, prefect of Meurthe-et-Moselle, also issued a prefectural decree prohibiting certain activities in order to “guarantee security during these weekends of festivities” such as the use, carrying and transport of fireworks and pyrotechnic articles from Friday December 6 at 6:00 p.m. until Monday December 9 at 8:00 a.m., then again from Friday December 13 at 6:00 p.m. until Monday December 16 at 8:00 a.m.
In addition, the purchase, retail sale, collection and transportation of fuel from Friday December 6 at 6:00 p.m. until Monday December 9 at 8:00 a.m. and then again from Friday December 13 at 6:00 p.m. until Monday December 16 at 8:00 a.m.
