By interministerial decree of November 18, 2024 published in the Official Journal on December 3, 2024, thees communes of Luttenbach-près-Munster and Stosswihrlocated in the Haut-Rhin department, were recognized as being in a state of natural disaster for the floods and mudslides of July 31, 2024. The abnormal intensity of the phenomenon was analyzed in light of the cumulative precipitation during the event .
The state of natural disaster noted by decree may give rise to the right to guarantee against material damage for policyholders covered by their insurance contract.
People residing in these municipalities have a deadline additional of 30 jours from 03/12/2024, date of publication of the decree in the Official Journal, to file a claim declaration and submit the estimated state of their damage to their insurer, if they have not already done so.
Victims who have already made their declaration before the publication of the decree do not have to take any particular administrative steps, but must contact their insurance correspondent again to prepare for the arrival of the experts.
