6 intermunicipalities work together on the challenges linked to seasonal employment.
The 6 intermunicipalities behind the agreement for the Lot, Terres deseasons system met on December 2, 2024, in Puy-l'Evêque to take stock of this first year. The system is distinguished by effective communication and innovative partnerships.
After more than three years of implementation within the two Communities of communes Cauvaldor and Quercy Bouriane the system was extended in 2023 to the Communities of communes of Quercy Blanc, Vallée du Lot and the vineyard, Cazals-Salviac and the Communauté d In the Greater Cahors agglomeration, the 6 EPCIs came together around the challenges linked to seasonal employment, also addressing related issues such as housing and mobility.
Today, Lot, Terres deisons has 276 companies registered on its platform www.terres-de-saisons.fr, as well as 3,446 registered seasonal workers, 69% of whom reside outside the Lot department. “We are very satisfied to have joined this system,” declared Serge Bladinières, president of the Community of Communes of the Lot Valley and the Vignoble. “However, there remain major challenges to attract more candidates, particularly with regard to accommodation and mobility. »
In an increasingly difficult seasonal recruitment context, the Lot, Terres de Saisons system is more useful than ever to help companies find candidates matching their needs. The 2024 summer season was once again marked by a shortage of candidates which is increasing from year to year. Mickaël the facilitator has enabled many companies to find profiles adapted to their needs, as evidenced by the company Les Croisières de Saint-Cirq-Lapopie which used the services of Lot, Terres deisons to find lock keepers for the season. Using location-based search, they were able to find the necessary staff nearby, shortly before the season started.
Concerning the housing issue: Lot, Terres de Saisons has initiated a collaboration with Soliha and the Fais comme chez toi system which connects owners (2/3 are over 60 years old) with unoccupied rooms in their homes with people looking for temporary rental.
The system also arouses the interest of the network of seasonal worker centers in Occitanie. Praised for the quality of its communication, Lot, Terres de Saisons will lead a working group on the subject in 2025 and also makes its newsletter available to employers.
