With more than 230,000 visitorsthe Parc oriental located in Maulévrier near (Maine-et-Loire) closed its doors on November 17 after a record attendance.

In 2024, the events around Japan were full, reaching a large audience curious about travel, culture and garden enthusiasts. While preserving and developing the historic garden to provide its visitors with a serene and colorful stroll throughout the seasons, the park received more than 230,000 visitors in 2024, another record year.

“We are seeing enthusiasm from many of our visitors who now regularly return to discover the new spaces and take advantage of the numerous events throughout the year. With new plantings this winter by our team of gardeners, the park is already looking forward to next season with a program full of events thanks to the mobilization of the park teams and our hundred volunteers.”

The first highlights of spring 2025

In 2025, the season will begin like every year with Hanami, from March 13 to March 31this traditional Japanese custom of appreciating and celebrating the beauty of cherry blossoms. As in Japan, visitors will be able to picnic (zero waste picnic) in the garden and enjoy afternoon concerts every weekend.

Then, every month a new event with from April 11 to 13, Ikebanawhich means “the art of bringing flowers to life”. It is a traditional Japanese art based on flower arrangement. The opportunity for visitors to come and discover an exhibition, observe demonstrations and learn about this art with the Senshin Ikenobo school.

Kodomo No Hi, the children's party will take place May 3 and 4.

Bonsai shōnew name for the National Bonsai Show, which also changes date, will be held on weekend of June 14 and 15.

Painters in the Garden, which will take place on August 3, is a meeting between painters inspired by the garden and visitors.

Finally, the arts of Japan will take place from September 13 to 14.
