A case of blood-curdling abuse. On November 26, 2024 in Lunéville (Meurthe-et-Moselle), the gendarmes intervened accompanied by the DDPP (Departmental Directorate for the Protection of Populations) following the report of a refuge.
Following concerns expressed by the SPLA (Society for the Protection and Fighting of Animals), an order was issued by the prosecutor to help several animals held in appalling conditions.
8 dogs, 7 cats and 2 goats
On site, investigators discovered several animals being mistreated in unsanitary housing. Locked in cages, the animals moved among their excrement and were totally neglected.
Inside the home, the living conditions were unthinkable: buried in filth, the home was also a source of concern for the safety of the children who lived in the home.
Although 8 dogs, 7 cats and 2 goats were rescued, investigators unfortunately noted the presence of several animal corpses on site.
Seized immediately, the animals were taken care of by the SPLA who will ensure they find new homes. An investigation was opened to determine responsibilities and take the necessary measures.
