Hit by her own car, a driver is hospitalized in serious condition

This Monday, firefighters intervened with a 67-year-old driver, the victim of a road accident in Nexon (Haute-Vienne). According to initial information, the latter was hit by her own vehicle. She was evacuated in serious condition, report our colleagues from France 3 regions.

Emergency services arrived at the scene of the accident around 4 p.m. The victim, seriously injured, was lying on the side of the D11 departmental road, his vehicle stopped a few meters from her. The exact circumstances of this accident are still unknown, but it seems that the sixty-year-old, who was traveling alone, was hit by her own car.

The cause of the accident still to be determined

The police opened an investigation. Different hypotheses are considered. Did the woman forget to apply her handbrake while getting out of her vehicle? Or did she fall off it while she was driving? For the moment, the clues found only confirm that she is the only one involved in this accident.

The driver was nevertheless found by firefighters in serious condition, which tends to prove that she fell from the moving vehicle, but nothing formally indicates this at this stage. She was rushed to Limoges University Hospital.
