“Another path is possible: that of dialogue and collective responsibility. Compromise is neither a weakness nor a compromise, it is a democratic force, what is more, adapted to the current political context,” assures the Member of Parliament for Dijon.

49-3: reaction of Ms. Océane GODARD
The bet on institutional chaos has never been my project nor that of the Socialist Party. My commitment, as a woman, an activist, an elected official and today as a deputy of the nation, has always been guided by dialogue, a sense of collectiveness, pragmatism and benevolence based on values of social justice and tolerance. But today, I must take note: the government is leading us into a dead end.
We are living in a historic moment: France is at a turning point. Michel Barnier initiated 49-3 to adopt a budget which, not only does not meet the aspirations of French people in terms of social and fiscal justice, but which also fails to control the budgetary imbalances induced by the choices of the President of the Republic.
In this context, I choose to vote for censorship. Not out of a spirit of systematic opposition, but because this government misses the opportunity to unite around a balanced and ambitious vision for the country.
Michel Barnier locked himself into a logic of alignment with the proposals of Marine Le Pen's far right, ignoring calls for cooperation, particularly with the left and the Socialist Party.
In the joint committee, we managed to advance the subject of increasing the resources allocated to public hospitals.
Another path is possible: that of dialogue and collective responsibility. Compromise is neither a weakness nor a compromise, it is a democratic force, what is more, adapted to the current political context.
Ambitions, from here or there, must fade to allow us to emerge from this historic moment on top. The presidential election must remain in its place, in 2027.
The clearly expressed position, with my socialist group, embodies the spirit of responsibility and aims to participate in the construction of a government pact focused on the general interest. These are the conditions that we are committed to creating, through dialogue and seriously, so that our country can meet local, national, European and international challenges.
Océane GODARD
Member of Parliament for Côte-d’Or
