On Saturday, November 30, the Russian national who had “clandestinely” infiltrated a New York-Paris flight refused to board the plane that was to bring her back to the United States, asking other passengers to help her.
For the second time in less than a week, passengers of the American company Delta witnessed a funny scene at Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle airport. On Wednesday, November 27, travelers from New York had to wait a moment on the tarmac, while an “additional” passenger was disembarked by the French police. The latter had managed to board “clandestinely” (without identity papers or tickets) at JFK and had spent her flight in the toilets.
To French officers, this 57-year-old Russian national explained, according to our information, that she was trying to flee the United States, where she had permanent resident status (thanks to a Green card), because she suspected Russian secret services of having found her and trying to poison her with Polonium, a radioactive substance used on several occasions to kill Russian nationals abroad. However, her medical examinations did not reveal any poisoning and since the passenger does not have a European visa, she is subject to a “non-entry” procedure for “lack of a valid travel document” in France.

Passengers who boarded with the “stowaway” told CNN that the latter kept repeating: “I don’t want to go back to the United States. Only a judge can force me to return to the United States.” “She also talked about the Geneva Convention several times, which, to me, showed that she was missing the point,” this passenger testified.
The American media also obtained a video in which we see this woman, pink hat on her head and mask on her nose, begging to be taken off the flight to New York. “Please help me!” I don’t want to go to the United States,” she shouts, facing distraught flight attendants. The woman was finally disembarked before departure and must be chartered on a future flight, on a date still undetermined.

In the meantime, the investigation by American federal authorities continues to try to understand how the fifty-year-old was able to board this Delta plane without passing an identity check or presenting a boarding pass at New York's JFK airport. . Upon her return to the United States, the Russian will probably be arrested to explain herself, but she only risks a fine, according to our colleagues.
