Domitian Détriewas appointed South-West territorial director of Voies navigables de France (VNF). He is the former director general of the Agence des Pyrénées. This territorial management position has been vacant since the appointment of Henri Bouyssès to the post of departmental director of Lot-et-Garonne last September.
Aged 43, Domitien Détrie is an outstanding territorial administrator and a graduate of Science Po Paris (Master “Territorial and urban strategies”). He began his professional career within the Association of Small Towns of France before joining the local civil service, notably as deputy director general within the city or metropolis of Montpellier. He was also general director of services for Muretain Agglo.
Strengthen the river
It was in 2021 that he joined the Agence des Pyrénées as general director, working to bring the agency closer to public and private stakeholders in the massif. As new southwest director, Domitien Détrie will implement the modernization project carried out by the establishment since 2020 with the aim of strengthening the anchoring of the river in the territory, to make it an engine of green growth and continue to increase its attractiveness.
Voies navigables de France (VNF) is a public establishment operating the State in charge of the ecological transition in the rivers. It manages a network of 6,700 km of canals, rivers and rivers including the Canal du Midi.
